Sewing from the stash! This striped silk just says SUMMER. I've had it for years and never figured out what to make with it, until now!

One of the most fun, but also most stressful parts of sewing clothes is deciding which pattern and which fabric to put together. This was a tricky one, due to the slippery, semi-sheer silk and bold stripes. I wanted clean / easy finishes so I wouldn't pull my hair out - lol. I decided on a tie neck halter top, using a dress pattern I've made before, shortened to a tank

Pattern: McCalls 7405 dress shortened into tank top, size XS

Mods: raised armholes at side seam, wider and longer neck tie

Fabric: Blue and Ivory Paint Stripe Silk De Chine - Cali Fabrics (2016) - 1 yard

Featuring a "Feminist" tag from Stitch Collective

Love how it turned out! It's breezy and cool, and I took my time so the inside is as pretty as the outside. This one is a keeper :)
